Although a psychiatrist is a physician, their ability extends beyond just prescribing medications as they are trained in psychotherapy as well in treating a wide array of mental health needs. This blend of ability to treat both the biological and psychological components of mental health is advantageous for the patient. You also do not need to have a formal mental health diagnosis to see a psychiatrist. Some people come into a psychiatric setting to process stressful experiences such as going off to college, relationship changes/issues (new, stagnant, or ending), work related problems, and other relationship problems with friends just to name a few examples. Other people are seen for their first episode of depression, anxiety, are stable on psychiatric medications and need medication refills as they are looking for a new clinician, or for those who have suffered with chronic mental health issues.
Payment with debit or credit card will be made at the time of appointment/session service. If/when in-person visits occur, cash/check will also be requred at time of appointment. A valid credit card must be on file with EirPax Psychiatry for which the clinical services will be charged immediately after service.
Since EirPax Psychiatry is a private, self-pay practice, I am not in-network, under contract, or in association with any insurance company or plan, and I do not accept insurance of any kind, including Medicaid or Medicare. This status means full payment for services is required at time of appointment. *If you are 65 years of age or older, you will receive further information detailing what this means for you. This type of direct payment practice and reimbursement method is important in bringing psychiatric care back to its holistic nature where the primary emphasis is not just about a quick, pressured 10-minute checklist and medication prescription but instead, instilling an in-depth look into what is most appropriate and beneficial to you and your goals. Due to this direct payment for services, there is no pressure to comply to inappropriate pressures and treatment time constraints; instead, the focus returns to the treatment which works for you. However, this non-participation in insurance does not mean you cannot file an insurance claim on your own; you can. Documentation can be provided by EirPax for this potential reimbursement from your insurance provider for out-of-network benefits if you desire.
Dr. Wright at EirPax Psychiatry utilizes evidence-based modalities and treatments personalized to each individual patient to address issues such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, personality disorders, trauma, relationship issues, life changes, and other difficulties. Treatments can run the gamut from psychotherapy alone to combinations of prescriptions/medications and psychotherapy. Non-controlled medications can be used but are not necessary for ongoing treatment. Psychotherapy, and its extensive diversity, is the core treatment. Dr. Wright offers an thorough initial evaluation process which may take up to several appointments, standard psychotherapy sessions (~50minute visit) with/without medications, and brief medication management style session as well as community and private speaking engagements. Dr. Wright currently practices and treats patients residing only in the state of North Carolina (South Carolina coming soon).

In the event you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, you are responsible for contacting the practice via the email or voicemail for the practice (found at the top of these forms and on the website). Please provide at least 48 business hours’ notice before the start time of your scheduled appointment, and your appointment can be rescheduled with no fee as it then can be offered to another patient. Given the solo nature of my practice, this leeway allows time to offer the time slot to another patient who may need to receive services. If an appointment is rescheduled or cancelled fewer than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time, you will be charged for the full price of the appointment for which you were originally scheduled.
**If you do not call and/or do not come to your scheduled appointment, you will automatically be charged for the full price of the scheduled appointment.**
Anyone arriving after 20minutes for a standard appointment and 10minutes for a brief appointment will be considered a no-show and charged for a missed appointment and will need to reschedule their appointment.
Given the limited size of EirPax, the telepsychiatric nature of services offered with the level of care it can safely respond to and federal regulations on prescribing controlled substances via telemedicine, certain issues are unable to be appropriately addressed to the degree they require. These include major active psychotic disorders, active eating disorders, actively thinking of suicide with plan or having recently attempted suicide, actively thinking of harming others with a plan, use of controlled substances (such as benzodiazepines like Xanax or stimulants like Adderall) to treat certain conditions such as ADHD or panic attacks (although these conditions can be effectively treated by non-controlled substances and therapy as options within EirPax), or persistent and profound intellectual disabilities.
Typically, a physician can spend several hours every day engaged in activities for a patient but not directly with a patient present such as phone calls, email correspondence, and interactions with pharmacies to name a few. Most system-based clinics do not "bill" a patient for this time but instead, increasing appointment cost or decreasing available times in order to cover this "lost time." As I am a solo, individual psychiatrist who will be with other patients during typical times, the simplest and fairest valuation of time outside these normal mark is to base it on an hourly rate. Also, simply put, if not used, you don't pay for them. But if you need these services, I will be available. However, please note your credit or debit card will be charged at the time of service for clinical phone calls or services outside the appointment time. Scheduling (or rescheduling), billing, or other non-clinical issue questions will not be billed.
